Growing Power has numerous outreach projects in Milwaukee, Chicago, and Madison. These projects are typically gardens located at sites where partner organizations have asked Growing Power to come in and build a garden for the community. The purpose of the projects is not only to feed the communities where the gardens are located, but also to educate neighbors about the benefits of growing your own. The goal is to demonstrate that growing food can be abundant, beautiful, culturally appropriate and supplement the community’s food needs. In many cases, the gardens serve as an outdoor classroom and gathering space for children and neighbors.  Learn more about Growing Power’s Outreach Projects.

Growing Power is also actively involved in policy initiatives to change our local and national food systems for the better.
