At Growing Power, we believe that the farm is an educational lab — a place to try new things, learn what we do not know, and improve on what we do. We believe that farming should be simple and accessible to all people, so we create methods for growing and livestock management that can be replicated in every neighborhood, from Detroit, Michigan to Ghana, Africa. Our methods are not fancy, they are efficient and effective, and hopefully coming to a neighborhood near you.
Our philosophy is that you are never too young or too old to learn. We teach youth as young as four and adults in their 90s how to change their neighborhood through agriculture. Youth are engaged through after school and job training programs, college students learn the trade on our farms in Milwaukee and Chicago, and adults are trained through our numerous workshops and through outreach programs we facilitate.

In collaboration with Milwaukee Public Schools & UW- Milwaukee School of Freshwater Sciences, curriculum kits with step by step directions have been developed for sale and distribution to schools that include the following: aquaponics, vermicomposting, mycoscaping (mushrooms) and microgreens.
We offer services to assist in making your kit and curriculum development successful! For more information regarding our educational curriculum and classroom kits, please email firstname.lastname@example.org.
